Most people after working all their lives do not end up wealthy. Only about 4% will be financially independent by age 65. The remaining 96% will be deceased, still working because they can’t afford not to, or dependent on others (broke on the pension). If you are an employee or you are self employed, your likelihood of becoming financially free is extremely small.
Here for your consideration are some options for generating income:
Overtime/Second Job: Here you are probably stuck and are trading hours for dollars. This option involves longer working hours and therefore extra stress. You become deprived of family and leisure time. Life becomes a four letter word, work, work and more of it. All for other people. Stress ad long work hours create health issues. You deserve something better than slaving away for someone else and becoming, perhaps, too ill to enjoy life.
Corporate Executive: Of those who choose to climb the corporate ladder, some will make it eventually, it will probably take several decades and there is a health and family relationship cost here. The corporate world expects 14 hour days from its executives. Way to go.
Investments: How good are your retirement benefits? Could you live on 5% of your retirement savings? That’s what they earn on average.
Operate a Traditional Business: These are generally high risk by their nature, when you add the stresses and responsibilities associated, one wonders. Today you have to be able to be a “jack of all trades” to manage your business. Becoming a slave to your business is also a probability.
Franchise: These are high risk ventures also, with similar stresses and responsibilities involved. There can be a huge outlay for a franchise , is it a good franchise? I have heard figures that indicate only about a third of franchises produce decent profits. About half of the remainder fail.
Network Marketing: If you choose the right company this can be low risk. Usana satisfies the criteria for a network marketing company, Products are in demand and will increase, consumable products, strong company etc. There have been many occasions where Usana has bee judged the best network marketing company to be associated with.
OK, so that is the company, where do we find people to join with us? We soon run out of our warm market, we try free leads and find they are useless. We need quality, targeted leads. The problem is getting them.
IF YOU ARE NEW TO BUYING LEADS, HERE’S A HEADS UP!
Don’t waste your time and money buying leads! Leads are a costly and time consuming way of building your business. If you are lucky AND you have a great list you may get 1-3% of this purchased leads list actually interested in what you have to offer! That is considered the industry average for leads lists. What that means is, for every one hundred people on your leads list, only 1 – 3 people will even want to hear anything about what you have to offer! When you look at how much you pay for your list, divide by 3, to get the average cost you are paying for people showing interest. Let’s say you purchase a bottom end list and spend $100 for 100 leads. $100 / 3 = $33 per interested lead.
The next step is the cost of your time. How much is your time worth? That is for you to determine but let’s say all you think your time is worth is $5.00 per hour (that’s less than a minimum wage worker by the way). It is not uncommon for entrepreneurs to spend hours with a prospect who is showing interest in their business, product or service. So let’s say you are real lucky and you only have to spend 20 hours per prospect developing a relationship by providing information, answering questions, or giving presentations so your prospect can make a “buying decision”. Now you have 20 hours X $5.00 = $100 per prospect. The actual cost per person from your lead list is $100 + $33 = $133 per business customer relationship.
What if you value your time at say $20 per hour, which by employment standards is probably at the low end of a good wage, your cost from lead to business relationship is $20 X 20 hours = $400 + $33 = $433 per person. So if all 3 leads decide to enter into a business customer relationship with you, your actual cost for developing those relationships is $433 X 3 = $1299.
Buying customers is so much simpler. Buying customers makes so much more sense. Wouldn’t you rather have a customer, who is already purchasing your product or service, than a lead you will have to “sell” on your product or service?
