MLM – Truth or Fiction?
MLM – Truth or Fiction?
– by Bill Brine-Lead Generation Master
In these day of high interest rates, high gas prices, credit crunches and job losses, more and more people are looking for alternative streams of income. Many will turn to the internet for their solution and Google terms like MLM, network marketing, home business, or other such keywords.
Mostly what they will find is a lot of sites that promise quick wealth without much work. The vast majority of such sites are promoting MLM opportunities.
These MLM companies promise quick wealth and overnight success with a minimum of effort. The concept is very attractive to those who are desperate to find alternative sources of income and who are not business savvy. Many people will put their hard-earned money and their valuable time into these opportunities, only to find out that the company is unwilling to help them build a real business, beyond selling them ‘tools’, which are usually motivational tapes and books designed to keep them from quitting the MLM business.
All that really happens here is that the MLM company gets richer. You see, their basic business model is flawed: all that new distributors are taught is to recruit more distributors. No-one is actually buying the products because they like the products – they are buying the products because they have to in order to qualify for commissions. And the winner: the MLM company of course!
An organization consisting of only salespeople will eventually collapse, especially when most of the ’salespeople’ are incredibly uncomfortable with selling anything, as are most people who get into MLM opportunities.
Let’s face it, the vast majority of us are not crack telemarketers, hate high-pressure sales tactics, and certainly do not enjoy the rejection that inevitably comes from cold-calling leads. No wonder 95% of MLM ‘businesses’ fail! No wonder that, if you look at the average distributor earnings as published by most MLM companies, you will see that the average earnings is only a few hundred dollars a year! And you can bet that those distributors have spent thousands of dollars on products and motivational books and tapes, and hundreds of hours being rejected, to earn those few hundred dollars…
You cannot build a business on salespeople alone. You need a stable base of customers. Customers who purchase the products on a regular basis because they like them.
I have been in many MLM businesses over the years. Why I kept coming back, I’m not sure. I guess I knew that there was something there, but I could never quite make it work. If I tried to get customers rather than distributors, my upline and the company would disown me, and sometimes put all kinds of obstacles in my way. And yet I knew, deep in my heart, that this was the proper way to build a business.
Finally I gave up in disgust, until I was introduced to the only company that does it correctly. I was extremely skeptical at first, but once I saw how it worked, I was captivated. Here at last was the correct business model.
We call it the Its Good Business model.
We don’t buy leads to build our businesses. We buy customers. We don’t try to recruit everyone that comes within three feet of us as a distributor. We don’t need to. We only talk to business prospects that are already presold, who understand how the business works, and are ready to get started.
Our parent company is skilled in selling products to the end user, the customer, and then selling the buying customer to us, the business affiliates (BAs). Why would they do this you ask? This allows them to reduce their marketing costs and to create multiple streams of revenue at the same time. They call it Co-operative Marketing. We call it Good Business. It’s a win-win situation.
As a consequence, this model has no failure rate. As soon as you sign up and buy customers, you start receiving revenue from those customers. For a one-time fee, you get commissions on their purchases for life. You don’t have to market to them, you don’t have to encourage them to purchase more products, you don’t even have to follow up with them unless you want to. The parent company does all that.
This is the total opposite of the traditional MLM model, where 95% of people fail to build a significant income, because they are unskilled at selling, whether it be to leads or to potential business partners.
This is unique; a real paradigm shift. It requires your immediate attention. If you want to build a real business with real business people. come see us!
