Neverthless, I thought it made sense to try to take some money back from the monopolistic big three telephone companies. Deregulation had created opportunities for people like me to save considerably on exhorbitant per minute calling rates through newer companies like ACN, Cognigen, and others.
I never did promote ACN, in part due to availability where I lived and because of recurring business costs and higher break-even point. Even though ACN commissions were twice as lucrative as Cognigen, and ACN did appear to have some pretty cool advanced products, I could be in profit much quicker with Cognigen. Also I could feel good about bringing in even my Grandma into Cognigen as a Rep because there was virtually no risk.
Google “ACN leads” and you’ll likely find over 1.5 million organic listings. Some lead brokers on Google offer free ACN leads so you could theoretically try them first. But to my knowledge ACN policy prohibits buying Leads – so check with ACN policy first. Call me thin-skinned maybe – but I do not want to call angry leads for any opportunity, who are going to be defensive, disturbed, or even hostile in reaction to my phone call. Starting and developing an ACN business could be lucrative if you know how to effectively use the telephone, the Internet, personal networking, and use cost-effective marketing tools. Just as with any good business, success will be determined largely by the skill-set of the marketer. ACN is not a lottery ticket or a stock option – meaning, you do not just buy in and wait for a payout.
